Apple has accidentally given fans a look at its secret product plans. A software leak in macOS Tahoe 26.7 has revealed references to more than 10 unannounced Apple devices. But one leaked product has raised more questions than the rest.
A big leak from macOS
As reported by MacRumors, Appleโs macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate included references to many products that have not been announced. The list covers iPhones, iPads, Macs, AirPods and smart-home devices. The leak is unusual because this was a release candidate. That means the software was close to its public version. Early beta software can contain hidden details about future products. This time, the information appeared much later in the process.
MacRumors said the most likely reason is a mistake while Apple merged different software branches. The company keeps internal builds with support for future hardware. One of those builds may have been mixed into the software meant for release. That small error opened a wider window into Appleโs plans.
AirPods with cameras steal the show
The most striking leak is a video showing AirPods with built-in cameras. The earbuds appear able to use what they see to help Siri understand the world around the user. The video shows someone holding a book near the earbuds. Siri then uses the camera view to identify the book. The idea points to a future where users may not need to reach for their phone for simple visual tasks. However, the leak does not mean these AirPods are coming soon. Apple is still aiming for 2027, the supply and software problems are believed to be part of the delay.
The same report also linked the delay to Appleโs wider AI problems. The camera AirPods need visual AI to work well. That makes the product more than a hardware project. Apple also needs the software behind it to be ready. The leak suggests that Apple is working on a much wider range of products than one business event could show. The leak’s findings include future Macs, iPads, smart-home devices and Vision-related hardware.
iPhone, Mac and home plans also exposed
The leaked code points to the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and a possible foldable iPhone. It also includes references to new Apple Watch models, AirPods, smart-home products, OLED iPad mini models and future Macs. The code also appears to include Home Hub devices, a future HomePod mini, a tabletop robot and other home products. Future MacBook Pro and iMac models were also linked to identifiers found in the software.
Still, none of this confirms that every product will launch. Apple has not confirmed the devices or their launch dates. The leak does give a useful look at the companyโs busy pipeline. Some products may appear soon. Others may take much longer. Some could also change or never reach customers. For now, the biggest surprise is not one new iPhone or Mac. It is the sheer number of products Apple appears to be testing. A software mistake has turned part of the companyโs normally secret roadmap into public news.
