Amazon Prime Video may soon use AI to deliver smarter recommendations.

Amazon Prime Video AI is making headlines after reports revealed a major redesign is in the works. The streaming platform could soon look very different as Amazon plans to place artificial intelligence at the heart of the viewing experience.

AI becomes the main focus for Prime Video

Amazon is preparing a major update for Prime Video. The company wants artificial intelligence to play a much bigger role across the streaming service. As reported by Reuters, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos asked Prime Video chief Mike Hopkins to rethink the platform so AI becomes one of its biggest features. The project is known inside the company as Lighthouse. It is expected to bring Amazon’s AI technology to more than 200 million Prime Video users around the world.

The move is part of Amazon’s wider AI strategy. As reported by The Hindu, the company has spent heavily on artificial intelligence in recent years. Prime Video is now expected to become one of the biggest examples of those investments. Although Bezos stepped down as Amazon CEO in 2021, he has remained closely involved in important company projects. Reports say he has received regular updates on the new Prime Video redesign and wants the service to better show Amazon’s AI abilities.

New features could change how people watch

The new design is expected to make finding shows and movies much easier. As reported by Yahoo Tech, the Lighthouse project may use AI to learn what people enjoy watching. Instead of showing the same suggestions to everyone, Prime Video could recommend content based on each user’s viewing habits. It may also understand spoken requests and improve voice searches.

The homepage may also receive a fresh look. One version being tested includes AI-powered content tiles with suggestions such as “1980s action movies” or “Christmas romantic comedies.” At the same time, the normal search bar and featured banners for new releases or live sports are expected to remain available. As reported by Entrepreneur, the redesign is meant to improve the overall viewing experience rather than simply add another AI tool. The company hopes smarter recommendations will help people find something to watch more quickly.

Testing continues before the final launch

The redesign is still under development, and the final version has not been confirmed. Amazon has already started testing different versions with a small group of users. The company may still change parts of the design after collecting feedback from testers or reviewing business needs.

Prime Video remains one of Amazon’s biggest services and is available even in countries where the company has only limited online shopping operations. Amazon believes a smarter streaming platform could help keep viewers engaged while also showing the strength of its growing AI technology. For now, there is no official launch date for the redesigned service. However, reports suggest Amazon wants AI to become a central part of how millions of people discover movies and TV shows in the future.

Author’s Opinion

AI can make streaming easier if it helps people find better content without making the app confusing. The real test will be whether the new features save time and improve the viewing experience instead of adding extra steps for users.
